The Country House Le Case probably occupies what once was the power and administration centre of “curtem de Rotelle”, owned by the Farfenze Monastery of Santa Vittoria in Mantenato.
Many of the lands owned by feudal aristocracy, popes and emperors were given to monks. Those were uncultivated and abandoned lands that the monks, or the so called conversi – because of their dedication to religious life and to manual activities – started to reclaim, turn over and to redistribute to poor people.
After the dissolution of the Farfenze power, the lands were transferred to the feudal aristocracy of the Castel of Ripacrepta and then of Lornano. Following the creation of the Comune di Macerata in 1138 and the subsequent domination of the Church, in the 18th century the lands were owned by the rich Cardinal Pietro Vidoni, delegate of Ancona and Governor of Pesaro and Urbino. Finally, in 1904 the ownership of the lands was transferred to the De’ Medici family, who actually had, since 1855, only the right of enjoyment of the property on condition of taking care of the estate and paying taxes. In 1988, the lands were finally acquired by the current owners.
As it typically occurs in large families, the members of the Giosue’ family join the same enthusiasm and commitment for what they do but at the same time they were able to perfectly balance their roles and activities to lead the family business and to get along very well with each other.
Elvia, who launched the family business, is the one that with her passion about sourcing the local produce and discovering the benefits and uses of herbs has anticipated the new cooking style of adding fresh herbs in the preparation of food.
Marcello, who is Elvia’s husband and an agricultural expert, is in charge of the farm-house and of both animals and crops, from which the family derives the meat and the vegetables that characterize the fine dining of Le Case.
Flavia is the older of the two sisters and is the “creative soul” of the family. She pays attention to every minimum detail and she is the one who will be in charge that your stay at Le Case is perfect.
Francesca, who is the “little” daughter, together with the Chef, Michele Biagiola, will ensure that your dining is a special and unique experience. As indeed a Sommelier, she will guide you among the excellent choices of the wine cellar. Everywhere you will feel surrounded by a friendly and warm atmosphere.
Since 1993, when it was opened just as an agritourism, Le Case have significantly expanded, by extending the offer of its exceptional services: from the hotel to the mini-apartments, from the swimming pool to the spa on 2000, and the restaurant L’Enoteca Le Case, opened on 2005 and immediately granted with the 1 star Michelin award.
The delightful park and the bio farm are parts of the inspiring scenery that greets your stay in one of the most suggestive un-spoilt corners of Le Marche.
Hospitality is more than a value and the services offered are even more than you could imagine. Further, the high professional level of the staff, the kindness and the availability of the Giosue’ family will contribute to make your staying as you would expect to be in an elegant and delightful place which looks at the same time familiar and intimate.
